The 2016 Hoffman Challenge featuring Crystalia Fabric!
Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a wonderful time. If you haven't made any New Year's Resolutions yet, how about challenging yourself by entering your beautiful creations in a contest or two this year?
The new 2016 Hoffman Challenge is a yearly tradition that goes back to 1988. It's a fun and exciting contest, producing some seriously lovely winners over the years. And even if you aren't the competitive type, it's such a fun project to do with friends or your Guild.
This year's challenge fabric has some fancy looking butterflies. If you're having a hard time taking your eyes off it, you might be seeing a few more colours than normal. Because it's a digital print, you can have from 40-100 different colours (from over 1 million colour combinations and shades!) gracing your fabric, as opposed to the 18 used in traditional screen printing. It's very..very.. pretty.

Of course, any contest wouldn't be this great without some equally great prizes to match. Up to $1,000 in Aurifil thread rewards as well as cash prizes.
In addition, each entrant receives
- 1 Fat Quarter of Hoffman Fabric
- 1 Spool of Thread (Aurifil)
- 1 Hoffman Challenge 2016 Pin
Check out the official Hoffman Challenge 2016 rules (PDF) and enter the contest here! Entries must be received by June 30, 2016.
If you're up for the challenge, be sure to check out the Challenge Fabric we have in stock; Crystalia N4240-132 (Opal) and Crystalia N4240-213 (Onyx) today. Also, take a peek at out our selection of Aurifil thread (we just started carrying it recently, so expect a lot more colours in the future!)
As this is our first test at carrying a Hoffman Challenge selection, we only have one bolt each, so supplies are limited.
If you make something lovely for the Challenge, we'd love to see it! Be sure to email us at contact@dinkydoo.com, tag us on Instagram or show us on Facebook. Have fun, and may 2016 be a great year for all of your quilting (and other crafty) projects! ~Alicia
